About
the Tour:
Sentry Equipment
Corp., located in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin,
celebrates our 88th year of existence in
Wisconsin. While Sentry always invested in the
future by being an innovative company, the true
meaning of this type of investment became
vibrantly apparent in 1986 when we became a 100%
employee-owned company. We quickly learned that
investing in innovation and in ourselves created
the environment and the tools we needed to
succeed. Since our ESOP (Employee Stock
Ownership Plan) started in 1986, Sentry has
grown from around $4,000,000 in annual revenue
to a $44,000,000+ global leader in the design,
manufacture, and service of unique sampling
systems and products for worldwide power and
process industries. Innovation means leading the
industry with new products and ideas. We as
employee owners believe leadership means setting
the pace in products and programs that set the
bar higher each and every day for our industry,
our community, and ourselves. Here are just a
few examples of our leadership in our industry
and in our community; what we call our list of
“Firsts”:
-
The “first”
company to design and sell a packaged sample
conditioning and analysis system for fossil
power plants.
-
The “first” to
manufacture a variable pressure reducer for
high pressure samples and a single
continuous tube sample cooler.
-
The “first”
company called upon to solve the problem of
sampling radioactive liquids in nuclear
power plants after Three Mile Island.
-
The “first” in
leak-proof sealing of samples for toxic and
radioactive liquids.
-
One of the
“first” small companies in Southeast
Wisconsin to utilize self‑funded health
insurance in 1994 and a wellness program
that included bi‑weekly doctor visits to our
plant and now our own onsite doctor.
-
The “first” and
only worldwide company to manufacture
sampling components for gases, liquids,
slurries and bulk solids.
-
The “first” to
use energy efficient LED lighting in both
the interior and exterior of a manufacturing
facility in the U.S. when we built our new
facility in 2007.
All of these “firsts” are motivated and
driven by our investment in ourselves as
employee owners of Sentry Equipment.
So come and see why Sentry Equipment was
awarded 2009 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year
and voted top 100 Workplaces three years
running.
