Chapter 11 - Chairman's Message May 2008 |
Message from the Chair
How time flies, as I work on the May meeting, it
doesn't seen possible that summer is around the
corner. Our chapter will not hold regular meeting for June,
July and Aug. Your committees will be
working on the fall meeting. Watch your TOOL BITS’ for
the Sept, meeting. Now don't forget
the IMTS show is at about the same time, so watch the
date and place. We try to hold the meetings
the first Wednesday of each month, mark your calendar
now so there are no conflicts. I am very
honored to have an excellent executive Committee. It's a joy
to work with them, please thank then
with me. Without their dedication our chapter could not
function. I want to thank each one for all
they do. We thank
Robb Manthey For setting up
the meeting at Graco, Dave Thompson, from Machine
Tool Supply, for arranging Don Thomason,
Hardinge Inc. who traveled from
was very generous to hold the meeting at the
was introduced by Robb Manthey
with a short Presentation on Graco, then he
introduced Don
Thomason. Don made an outstanding presentation on hard truing in
the place of grinding. It has
its place. Afterwards there were tour guides to see the
process in action. We want to thank the tour
guides, also. It's a real joy to have companies who are
committed to our industry and community.
Thank you Graco. We hear the news,radio, TV, print, and internet, they keep suggesting
the R word. Oh sure I get to travel and hear things from
different angles. One thing stands out. No
savings, Credit cards maxed out, buying on time with no way
to repay on time, so hit with high
interest rates, what school did these people go to? What
school teaches to borrow the down payment,
then borrow the loan? This house of cards will fall,
leaving the people that did things the correct
way to pay for it. Plus I say we steal from the elderly
on fixed income to bail them out. Let me
hear your comments. Write a column for the TOOL BITS. Our
May meeting at Productivity
Inc. will not be just a meeting but help them
celebrate the new addition to there building. See you
