Overall Process
Effectiveness Location: Productivity Inc., Park in front of office. Look for signs to meeting room. Today, high quality, quick response time, and effective
cost management are all required for manufacturers to stay in business. Our
businesses have sophisticated order management and inventory management
systems. Few of these systems actually go down to the shop level to report on
the effectiveness of our most important capital assets. The May SME chapter meeting will offer
an overview of what technology is available for automatically generated
management reports, and uptime measurements for CNC machines. Don Engles,
from Productivity, Inc. will give a presentation and a demonstration of
equipment that will allow you to have a more reliable picture of how your CNC
performs in your plant. Russ Hane, from Productivity, Inc. also will
present an overview of current fabrication technology. This presentation will
also include some discussion on the topic of how new fabrication machines
allow you to lower your manufacturing costs. Getting more operations included
in basic sheet metal operations and some examples of how traditional designs
have been modified in order to take advantage of these new capabilities will
