I want to thank our members for being so involved with the chapter. We had a very nice turnout of 16 people for last month’s meeting. It was quite an informative demonstration of laser inspection put on by Tom and Dan Swenton. The meeting coincided nicely with the August edition of Manufacturing Engineering that devoted a large part of the magazine to “Lasers on the Shop Floor”.

Our next meeting will be a tour of Tronser in Cazenovia, a manufacturer of electronic components by utilizing high precision, high production machinery in a fully automated process. Check out this month’s meeting notice for time and date. 

The November meeting is scheduled to be a tour of J.R.Clancy. They are a manufacturer of stage rigging systems and are certified as meeting the ISO 9001:2000 standard. They’re the only North American stage-rigging manufacturer to have achieved this certification. They are located at 7041 Interstate Island Road Syracuse, NY.

I would like to extend an invitation to anyone interested in becoming more involved with the decision making process of our chapter to contact myself or any of the other officers. We are currently planning for next year’s executive committee. We are recruiting for a person who would like to start at Secretary and work their way up through the chairs.
