Leading Manufacturing Innovation Through People
SME: Where Manufacturing Comes Together
The Society of Manufacturing Engineers - SME is the world's largest and oldest professional society in technical education, founded in 1932, with around 25,000 members around the globe. SME advances manufacturing knowledge and influences more than half a million manufacturing practitioners all over the world.
Our SME Toronto Chapter 26 is one of the oldest SME chapters, founded in 1939 and it serves close to 1,000 members and former members in the Toronto area and additional 300 members in the remaining parts of Canada. In addition SME-26 is connected to approximately 1,200 non-members from industry, education and the public sector and to supporters, participants and hosts of our events and workshops.
In total our SME Toronto Chapter 26 reaches out to around 2,500 professionals who are interested in the opportunities SME-26 provides and the work we do.
Our goal of the SME Toronto Chapter 26 is to provide the manufacturing communities around Toronto and beyond with opportunities for education, communication and information sharing through our workshops, plant tours, presentation, networking and social events. SME-26 supports several student chapters in the Toronto area and is a not-for-profit organization, with our SME Headquarter in Detroit, MI.
We follow our Vision Statement:
Leading Manufacturing Innovation through People.
