Abstract
 

Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Canada is a state of the art facility for the manufacturing of Corolla Sedan, Matrix Hatchback , Lexus RX330 and four-cylinder engines. The 400 acres, 2.8 million sq.ft., $2.3 Billion dollar plant employs 2500 people with an annual sales of $ 218 million dollars. They produce 250,000 vehicles per year and 150,000 engines as well.

At this plant they do stampings, plastics, die shop, body welding, paint and assembly.

They have won J.D.Power and Associates Plant Quality Gold award for 1991,1995& 1996 and 2001. and are ISO 14001 (Environmental management) Certified in 1998. The Corolla won Best Compact Car in 2001 as per J.D.Power.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada is located in Cambridge, Ontario near the intersection of Hwy 401 and Hwy 8, which, by car, is about one hour from Toronto, or one hour from London.

The Visitors' Centre is accessed by Gate 2 only.

Visitors should follow signs for Gate 2.

Those arriving by car should enter Gate 2, and park in Visitors Parking. After parking the vehicle, visitors should proceed to the Gate 2 Guard House, and identify themselves. Security will clear you on the list (which was provided 30 full business days in advance) and a Visitors' Centre staff member will come to greet you. If your group is arriving by bus, instruct the driver to enter at Gate 2 and to stop in the pull over lane on the right hand side. Security will notify the Visitors' Centre of your arrival and a Visitors' Centre staff member will come out to greet you.
