SME Toronto Chapter 26 serves about 450 members in the Toronto area. The Chapter was founded in 1939, the 26th chapter in the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. There are now more than 500 chapters with a total membership of 70,000 worldwide. The goal of Chapter 26 is to provide opportunities for communication and education to the manufacturing community of the Toronto area by offering monthly technical talks and plant tours, plus supporting several student chapters. It is a not-for-profit organization. SME headquarters is in Dearborn, Michigan.
