Event Overview

Collaborate 2007 was North America's ONLY event designed to foster cross-industry collaboration between automotive, aerospace and defense. This annual conference and exhibition gave attendees the opportunity to share best-practices and discover solutions to technology and process challenges. Exclusive facility tours, informative keynote panels, networking, interactive workshops and more provided a dynamic event experience not found anywhere else.

Why Texas?

Texas is ranked in the top 10 states for automotive employment and is also the second largest vehicle market and truck retail market in the U.S., following CA. Texas has 549 automotive manufacturing establishments directly employing 31,826 people and 86,000 people employed in auto-related jobs.

The large and growing Texas vehicle marketplace enhances the state’s position as an excellent automotive manufacturing location based on its first-rate transportation and logistics infrastructure, a centralized Southern geographic location, a skilled workforce, strong partnerships between gov’t and business and the nation’s number one rated business climate.

Texas is the second largest aerospace manufacturing market in North America. From 1993 - 2003, Texas received $20.32 billion in Department of Defense funding committing to innovation and increased production.

What are Advisor Responsibilities

As a member of the conference advisory group, your primary responsibility is to represent industry and potential conference attendees to help build conference content.

This will include:

· Helping to identify topics or sessions that would be of interest to conference attendees.

· Recommending potential speaker contacts for SME staff to follow-up.

· Reviewing abstracts submitted by the Call-for-Speakers mailing to assist in speaker selection.

To support the event, advisors are asked to:

· Lend their names and signatures to letters and brochures for promotion of the event.

· Recommend to colleagues, customers and suppliers to attend the conference and exhibits (sample letters and messages will be provided for this purpose.)

· Attend any networking events scheduled at the conference.

The group will meet via conference calls. The number of conference calls needed will vary depending on progress on the event development. The average will likely be one or two calls a month in the beginning of the development process. Calls will then taper off to every other month or email communication updates.

Advisor Benefits

· Complimentary attendance to the event.

· Exposure for you and your company. Committee members will be listed in the brochure and on the SME website.

· Excellent networking opportunity with key contacts in industry.

· Opportunity to share your knowledge and help build a dynamic conference. You are giving back to industry, this is a selfless and rewarding act.
