Process Engineer Wanted:

September 1, 2005 Posting

We are presently conducting a search for a Process Engineer to implement lean process improvements in the Assembly and Test areas in a large capital equipment manufacturing environment.

Our client is a $120mm manufacturer located in the northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin area (not Chicago) and is part of an $800mm publicly traded Corporation. This position reports to the Team Leader of the Assembly & Test area. The company has a successful history of promoting internally. This division is experiencing significant growth and they are seeking a candidate who has the ability to take on more responsibility as the company grows.

Ideally we are seeking a candidate with at least 2 - 5 years experience in manufacturing/industrial engineering roles in a heavy manufacturing environment, with a BS degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.

The main focus will be on implementing lean process improvements, creating and updating product assembly routings, troubleshooting assembly and test stand issues, implementing Standard Work throughout Assembly & Test, strategic planning etc.

This person will become the technical expert, knowing how the product is built inside and out. Production output is expected to more than double over the next two years and this person will be heavily involved in planning and executing all of the changes in assembly and test. They are driving towards a mixed-model moving assembly line, much like Toyota has, so this will involve floor layouts, work station design, visual controls, part replenishment systems, tooling etc...pretty much everything in the lean skills portfolio.

Out client is also in search of a Process Engineer with experience in CNC machining operations. This position will be responsible for CAD/CAM creation, tool selection, fixture design and process development for a variety of machine tools; development of process improvements through the use of lean manufacturing techniques and resolution of quality problem through root cause analysis. This is a second shift position offering quite a bit of independence and autonomy.

We believe these to be challenging and exciting positions that offer tremendous growth. Our client is offering a competitive base and generous benefit program. If you or someone you know would have an interest in working for a profitable, growing and well run organization, have them contact me to discuss this position in greater detail.

Sincerely,
