Society of Manufacturing Engineers Chapter 69 Minutes of the Executive Board Meeting December 10, 2008

There
was no technical presentation as this is the yearly planning meeting for the
chapter.
Chairman, Bob Petrach began the meeting at 6:05 p.m. with introductions of new officers in attendance.

The
topic of the meeting is yearly planning and helping the new officers to understand their duties.
Bob began the meeting by showing the
website www.sme.org. There is a chapter dashboard with a login and
password that enables officers to get a member list and secure form, as
needed. At SME, Natalie Lowell has shown
to be very helpful. Members can logon to
update their own profiles. There is a
Volunteer Leader’s Toolkit that is available to get forms.
Bob reviewed the significant events of
2008 with tours taken, the social event at the Dream Cruise and other chapter
accomplishments.
There is a CPAG sheet for chapter
accomplishments that needs to be filed with Natalie Lowell by January 31, 2009.
Upcoming events include Kuka Robotics on January 14th. People need to RSVP for this event as Kuka has concerns about who is attending.
January 5th is the target
date for the chapter bulletin and January 12th is the date for a
meeting reminder to be sent.
CMFGT is set for Saturday, January 31,
2009.
For February ABB is is
scheduled for the chapter tour. Bulletin
should be scheduled for February 2nd, Meeting reminder on February 9th
with the meeting on February 11th.
March has a schedule of Single Source
Technologies as the tour. Bulleting is
March 2nd, Meeting reminder on March 9th and the meeting
is on March 11th.
April has an event with SME to promote
Professional Networking. The bulletin is
scheduled for March 30th, Meeting reminder on April 6th
and the meeting is April 8th.
We are looking for a presentation for
the May meeting which is scheduled for May 13th. East Tech is scheduled May 9-21st.
The June Annual SME meeting will be
held in Philadelphia this year.
There are no scheduled events for July.
August is the month for the chapter
social activity. We are hoping that Jack
Day will volunteer again to host us for a Dream Cruise event.
For September we are looking for
suggestion for a program. Meeting
reminder is due on September 7h with the meeting scheduled for September 9th.
October is the month for a new
Officer’s slate to be presented. The
bulletin is due on October 5th.
The Meeting reminder is due on October 12th and the meeting
is on October 14th.
The meeting in the month of November is
for the election of officers.
The December meeting is the yearly
planning meeting.
As always, the chapter is looking for
help in securing tours and presentations.
The chapter is interested in people
looking for certification. The chapter
does it in a cost effective manner and has members eager to help with classes.

announced that the chapter is looking for award candidates.
Secretary's
Report
Bob Petrach asked if there were any additions or corrections to the November minutes. One was offered to correct the spelling of Herb Dobbs for the SME Follow award. Paul Drallos made a motion to accept as amended, seconded by Jack Wagner, approved.
Treasurer's
Report
Gary
Shepperd gave the report. Balance before this month’s expenses and tonight’s
meeting $5,939.98. Expenses to be paid
include Jet’s Pizza for $95.00 and Chapter 1 for the installation dinner is
owed $429.00.
Bulletin
Report:
Paul Drallos announced that due to his teaching schedule that he may not be able to make all meetings. Please e-mail him information so that he has material to put into the bulletin.
Student
Chapter Report:
No student report.
Old
Business:
Bob
Petrach talked about the Installation Dinner with Chapter One on December 16th
at the Gazebo in Warren. It was requested from Chapter One that Gary sends one
check to cover all members. The cost is $23.00 single or $45.00 couple. There
are currently about 19 reservations.
Bob
went through a list of who is coming.
A motion adjourned the meeting from Viktor Astakhov and the meeting ended at about 8:30.
