Nominations Committee:

No report.

Membership Committee:

Cathy DeNardo reported that she is working on the next telethon. Cathy also reminded everyone to sign in and that name badges were available for $8.

Programs Report:

Scott Manning gave report. Scott is working on a tour of Kriewalt Industries, which is at 32 Mile and Van Dyke in Romeo.

"March 9 presentation will be at OCC by Bonal Technologies in Royal Oak. A demonstration machine will be part of the presentation."

April and May programs are open.

Wine Tasting - Jennifer Warstler is looking for a place in Royal Oak to hold this event.

A date of Saturday April 22 has been set.

Certification Report:

Larie Smith reported that seven people are interested in the certification exams and the emailing of the brochures was a success. He also asked for help with the review sessions.

Communications Report:

Doug Ruffley is in talks with SME about newspaper contacts and getting the SME name out more.

Bulletin Report:

Doug Ruffley gave report. He is looking into a new format for the newsletter and suggested that we do away with the hard copy of the newsletter.

Doug said we have email names of 80% of our members and thinks we may want to have it on our website only. This would save a considerable amount of money.

Student Chapter Report(s):

Jennifer Warstler gave report and said Elaine is working on getting permission slips to students for our tours. Also they are working on getting the SME name out to students.

Old Business:

Bob Petrach and Gary Shepperd have been working together on submitting the funding request forms to Natalie at SME. They discovered that the forms could not be submitted more then 90 days in advance and then takes 30 days to be approved. They were hoping that the funding request could be done once for the full year.

Also discussed was that 50% of the Chapter websites had advertising.

New Business:

Bob Petrach talked about the SME News being hard to find on the SME website. And was going to talk with SME to see if the SME News could be in a pdf format for easier browsing.

Jack Day mentioned that we need to find volunteers for the Best Practice Chair and the

TCN Coordinator position.

Jack also mentioned that Larie Smith could use some help with Certification.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45pm by a motion from Bob Petrach and seconded by Al Wolfe.

Respectfully submitted,

Alan Wolfe
