Treasurer's Report

Jack Wagner gave the report. Stated we were in good financial shape. Jack has not received

any funding or information from SME to date. Jack also stated that John Dinovski name is not on the checking account.

Membership Committee:

Bob Petrach said the Telethon would be held later in the year September-October. John Dinovski said that we should get in contact with members that we have no email addresses for.

Bob has contacted SME to improve the method of communicating lists of new and expiring members to the chapter. He also stated that he and Jack haven’t heard anything about our chapter funding for retention from SME. Bob is also trying to fine ways of getting more members involved in our meeting. Jack Wagner suggested that we should ask members what type of topic’s they would like discussed at our Technical Presentations.

Programs Report:

Leandro Barajas informed us that he has speakers lined up for the rest of the year. The September speaker will be Herb Dobbs, October Andra Simen and November Amanda Olesky.

Communications Report:

Doug Ruffley sent John Dinovski and Bob Petrach a backup of the member data base list.

Doug stated that he has been getting feedback from the emails and bulletins that he has been sending out. Doug wants to get more email addresses of our members.

Bulletin Report:

Paul Drallos was absent. Jack Wagner mentioned that he would send Paul his bio for the bulletin.

Paul has not received any bio’s to date.

The next bulletin will be the September bulletin, which will be sent out early.

There was talk of sending the bulletin out to those we do not have emails for and asking for there email address. They are to be sent out on a postcard, but it has not been decided who would do this.

Certification Report:

Larie Smith reported that both applicants would retake the “T” exam on June 3, 2007.

One additional person will be taking the “T” exam and Larie will be taking the “E” exam.

Larie still is having problems getting the workbooks and communicating with SME.

The next exam is scheduled for November 18,2007 with reviews on November 10 & 17.

If anyone is interested contact Larie.

Old Business:

More talk on sending out postcards for members without email addresses.

Using cell phones for the Telethon.

Send Bio’s to Paul for the bulletin.

Summer Social will be held at “Hooters.”

Hooters is on the south east corner of Rochester Road and Big Beaver in Troy.

The date is Friday July 20,2007.

Time of event needs to be set and reminder sent out to everyone.

New Business:

There was a lot of discussion of our website and the need to revise it.

Leandro had a lot of ideas on how this should be accomplished.

One constant was to keep it simple.

Bob Petrach will check with Elaine to see if she is interested in this project

or if she may know someone who is.

Jack Wagner mentioned if “Hooters” doesn’t work out for the Summer Social that it

might be possible to have it at the “Oakland County Country Club”.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00pm by a motion from Bob Petrach,

seconded by Leandro Barajas.
