Treasurer's
Report
Jack
Wagner gave the report. Noted that we received $347.00 from SME for chapter
funding which was for 84.7% retention. Two more members retained and we would
have doubled the amount received. $537.29 expenses for month leaves a balance
of $4,628.44.
Membership
Committee:
Shelly Shattuck gave the report. Shelly went to SME Headquarters last week to meet with Natalie Lowell our Member Relations Manager. New members were in the bulletin and Shelly is working to retain the 12 expired members. Shelly said Mark Tomlinson would be at the installation dinner.
Shelly talked about the presenter for January 2008, Jamie Flinchbaugh and making this a joint event with other chapters. There was a discussion on where this could be held and how the food would be ordered. There was also a 35-minute discussion on why there was such a membership drop from the 1990’s and the problems with the student chapter. It would have gone on longer but Alan Wolfe brought up Paul Drallos idea of having the Student chapter design, manufacture and market a snow shovel. This idea was not well received or thought to be of interest to students, discussion ended.
