Presented by: Gerald S. Cole (PhD) FASM
Dr. Cole separated from Ford Motor Company as a Senior Staff Technical
Specialist in November 2001. His career at Ford spanned 38 years in a range of
subjects from metallurgy and cast metals R&D (in cast irons, aluminum,
magnesium, and metal matrix composites), physical analysis, and vehicle weight
reduction. He was a director of 5 technical/trade organizations, is listed in
American Men/Women of Science and is cited in Who's Who. Jerry has published
130 papers, has 9 patents and has given hundreds of invited presentations
around the world. He manages his own consulting company LightWeightStrategies
LLC, and can be reached at geraldcole@peoplepc.com.
This will be open to
students as well as members and guests.

Joe LaRussa is a registered professional engineer in the
discipline of manufacturing engineering.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering,a Master of
Science in Automotive Systems Engineering,
and a Master of Science in Engineering Management,all from the
University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Mr.LaRussa has six years of experience in the design,development and
manufacturing of powertrain systems
and their components.They include ignition coils,air induction systems,intake
manifolds and electronic throttle
bodies.
