Call to order:

Nigel Holmes called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. and recorded the meeting minutes.

Secretary’s Report:

There being insufficient executive members present for a quorum, no motion was made to accept the January minutes.

Treasurer’s Report:

• $5,689.43 is the checking account balance as of February 6, 2007.
• The Treasurer highlighted that for 2007 the Chapter is looking at a shortfall in the region of $700 to $1300, depending on the funding received from Headquarters.
• The audit report was completed with no issues and the forms filed on time and acknowledged.

Vice-Chair’s Report:

• No report.

Committee Reports:

• Certification: Updated information and links to be posted on the Chapter 79 web site. Jim Beavers is talking with Rob Butts about arrangements for training.
• Bulletin: Nigel Holmes is setting up a Yahoo group to ease mass emailing of the Bulletin.
• Special Events: Future Cities – Matt and Bob Heller were judges and will be looking for support next year. It was noted that Scarlett Middle School (Ann Arbor) finished very strongly.

<>The February event is a meeting and tour at Shafi Robotics in Brighton on the 15^th.

          July picnic – two dates were discussed for this annual event: 7/14 or 7/21. Feedback from the members is needed.

Chapter 1 are holding a ‘Sweetheart dinner’ at the Clawson Steakhouse on Feb 16^th. This is their Officer Installation dinner.

• Award Committee: No report.
• Events Matrix: As of January 2006 the meeting matrix was passed on Chapter 198. The meeting matrix is at a stand still.

• Other possible future membership meetings with Balance Technology, Inc., NuStep, Inc., Rofin-Sinar, Ervin, Simulation Study Tour, Alfe Heat Treating, Thetford, Sloan Inc., Balance Technology, Flat out, GFS, USEPA, Toyota Test, Edon Soy, Resume writing class or The Challenges of Starting Your Business.

• Constitution and Bylaws:

No Report.

• Chapter Coordination:

Chapter 235 has jointed with Chapter 001 because low participation.

• Membership:

No Report

• Student Chapters:

Nigel Holmes is now in contact with faculty at the University of Michigan and is discussing how best to build better contacts between their student chapter and Chapter 79.

Old Business:

• Nigel Holmes is acting as webmaster and Bulletin coordinator but needs help with these duties!

New Business:

• None

Next Executive Committee Meeting:

• The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Saline Lectronics, Saline, MI.
