Call to order:

Sandy Stewart called the meeting to order at 6:32 pm.

Nigel Holmes recorded the meeting minutes.

Secretary’s Report:

The Minutes for January were submitted with a Motion to accept proposed by Matt Maj and seconded by Bob Heller.

The Minutes for February were submitted and corrected. A Motion to accept was proposed by Ed Abbott and seconded by Matt.

Treasurer’s Report:

¨ $5,512.32 is the checking account balance as of March 6, 2007.

Vice-Chair’s Report:

¨ No report.

Committee Reports:

¨ Certification: Jim Beavers wants to know who on our roster is certified so he can email/mail a letter to them asking if they plan to remain certified or need any help with this. He has already done this with Chapter 1 with limited success.

¨ Bulletin:

Nigel Holmes has set up a Yahoo group to ease mass emailing of the Bulletin. Members need to sign up to this.

Ed Abbott to see if HQ would help us with a mailing to remind members to update their email addresses.

Ed/Sandy will send out the March Bulletin once the event and Chair’s Message are up on the web site.

¨ Special Events:

On Feb 22nd the Engineering Society of Detroit honored Jim Beavers with the Outstanding Senior Member Award at their dinner event.

¨ Award Committee: No report.

¨ Events Matrix: Chapter 1 has someone to take this on.

¨ Membership – Matt Maj will take this on.

Meeting Management:

¨ Balance Technology plant tour is set for March 15^th in Whitmore Lake

¨ V-Converter April 19^th – needs to be confirmed

¨ Plexus May 17^th – Jim Beavers exploring possible venues.

¨ Hands on Museum family event June 16^th

¨ Picnic July 21^st

¨ September 20^th presentation on Risk Management in the IT World

Other Committee Reports:

¨ Constitution and Bylaws: HQ sent out a ballot. Please get it back.

¨ Chapter Coordination: Chapter 235 has jointed with Chapter 001 because of low participation.

¨ Student Chapters: Nigel Holmes is now in contact with faculty at the University of Michigan and is discussing how best to build better contacts between their student chapter and Chapter 79. Mitch Goodkin will find the Faculty rep. NH to check with SME on who is listed on the roster.

¨ Christmas party – Ed to get pricing from AA CC and Bob H to get same from Terry B’s

¨ Fund raising – Sandy Stewart proposed we organize a mini seminar event in the fall. Ed/Sandy to run the idea past HQ after Sandy brings back a proforma budget to the next meeting. Ideas for additional seminar content sought. Please vote for your top 15. NH to check room availability at UofM.

Next Executive Committee Meeting:

¨ The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Saline Lectronics, Saline, MI.
