If the METV window does not show up on your initial SME webpage, click on the “Technical Info and Publications” heading in the top blue line on the SME opening webpage and then from the dropdown menu select the “Technical Publications” option. The METV window will appear on the top right corner of the “SME Technical Papers” webpage.

Tolerance Stack-up Fundamentals Webinar November 11, 13, 18, & 20, 2009 (11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. ET) - via Telephone/Web Registrations will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. ET, November 10, 2009 Analysis of tolerance stacks varies widely. This webinar introduces the basic tools to create a common methodology for tolerance stack-ups, and ensure seamless documentation. Participants will create 1-D tolerance stacks for parts and assemblies that use geometric dimensioning and tolerancing using a tolerance stack spreadsheet. This simple, manual spreadsheet method produces an easily interpreted and checked documentation trail, and is easily adaptable to common electronic spreadsheet programs. Multiple examples will be provided to assist engineers in applying tolerance stack-up fundamentals to Y14.5 issues. |

SME Tour of Austin Energy—Decker Creek Plant The Austin chapter of SME, Chapter 211, is proud to announce a tour of the Decker Creek Power Plant, a part of Austin Energy, on Thursday, November 12. Supper will be Don’s Bar-b-que at 5:30 followed by a short business meeting and the tour. This plant will be going into maintenance mode at the beginning of that month and it is hoped that they will have boiler opened up for us to view.
