First Guest Speaker: Dave Stanyo
Dave
Stanyo has nearly 40 years' experience working in sales, marketing,
customer service and management positions in the electronics and metals
manufacturing industries.
Prior to establishing Micro-E Company in
1976, Dave has served in marketing and administrative capacities at IBM, Xerox,
Ducommon Metals and GTI Corporation.
Dave's lived in
Southern California since 1956 and has been increasingly active in government
affairs, having been a member of the Los Alamitos, Cypress and La Palma Chambers
of Commerce.
He was chairman of the West Orange County Legislative
Committee and remains active in this organization.
He's been tasked with promoting public awareness of the state's job
emigration problems--specifically its eroding manufacturing base-- by creating a
grass roots movement enlisting the support of the State Chamber of Commerce,
major industries, major city government and supportive state legislators.
CSULB Student Chapter S053 Battle BOT Project
Second Guest Speakers: Student Chapter S053 from Cal State
University Long Beach
The student chapter at CSULB has had an on going project of building a
battling robot. The students will come and give a presentation on the current
status of the project. They currently have two robots and have entered in three
competitions with the last being April 24th and 25th at the Anaheim Convention
Center. The Battle BOT competition in a battle where the last one running wins.
