SPRINGFIELD INDUSTRIAL EXPOSITION 2000

The Springfield Industrial Exposition (SIE), first held in 1984, is scheduled for September 27, 2000. SIE 2000 is sponsored, organized and managed by Springfield Chapter 321 of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
SIE 2000 is endorsed by the Springfield Area Manufacturers Association (SAMA) and the Springfield Chapter of the American Welding Society (AWS).
Revenues from the exposition fund chapter activities which include; Chapter monthly Technical Meetings, Technical Seminars, Chapter Officer Training, scholarships and other activities at OTC and SMSU, assistance with Junior Achievement including judging and annual awards, and assistance with the Regional Science Fair including judging and annual awards.
SIE, permits manufacturing personnel, unable to attend larger expositions, to observe some of the latest in manufacturing technology. Attendance (1400 in 1999) is from within a 100 mile radius of Springfield. Currently the exposition is a one day event. There were 135 exhibits at SIE 99.
Starting in 1999, on a trial bases, SIE will run concurrent with The Safety Council of the Ozarks Conference & Exposition. This will increase attendance at both functions and provide better value to exhibitors and attendees.
With the solid reputation SME Chapter 321 has concerning successful expositions, plus the endorsement of SAMA and AWS, the Springfield Industrial Exposition will to continue to grow in size and attendance.
