Amtech Aeronautical Limited is an Alberta-based professional engineering company with offices in Medicine Hat and Calgary, and an affiliated organization in the Montreal area. Amtech is a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting company specializing in the military engineering and aeronautical areas. This capability has allowed the company to effectively provide services and to develop speciality products in these two core areas that include – Engineering and technical services supporting military and counter-terrorism R&D and humanitarian de-mining. Speciality military engineering products such as surrogate anti-personnel mines. Design and build of test facilities such as the CB plus Chamber designed for testing the efficacy of Individual Protective Equipment For soldiers and first-responders operating in a chemically or biologically toxic environment. Exercise of delegation from Transport Canada for the approval of aircraft modification and repair designs. Development of aeronautical products for use in police helicopter operations and in aircraft ice detection. The presentation provides an overview of the company’s operations by discussing representative projects in each of the core areas, and considers the challenges of working with both government and private sector clients in these specialized areas.
