SME Northern Lights Chapter 370 proudly presents . . . .

A plant tour at:

Progressive Machine Works

Progressive Machine Works (PMW) was founded in January 1997 by Wes Warkentin and has now grown to include 20+ machines. In the past 4 years PMW has expanded rapidly more than doubling in size to 10,000 sq ft in order to meet the demands of their customers. At PMW they specialize in machining small parts from aluminum, bronze, stainless steel or plastic with the main focus being high volume production runs.

In order to stay competitive in this niche market, PMW uses standardized equipment and control systems, as well as in-house innovations and designs. By using only HAAS CNC milling machines and lathes, the work force is much more flexible, and individuals can be moved as needed to any given machine. A fluid work force is vital for the programming and setup of automated loaders. PMW also has several custom-designed pneumatic and robotic machine loaders. This type of automation allows the company to operate the plant lights-out, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and has helped them thrive in the small parts/high volume market.
