SME Calgary is set up to provide high quality continuing educational
opportunities, technical based programs, professional development and
networking opportunities for Manufacturing Engineers, Students and other
professionals interested in manufacturing methods and systems through
quality technical programs, plant tours, and seminars.

As many of you are aware the Chapter has been very quiet (dead) for the last few years. The Calgary Chapter is in the process of renewing itself. The target for 2010 is to host 3 or 4 manufacturing events this year. A combination of factory tours and training events.

designs, manufactures & distributes medical devices world-wide that are used
to position patients during surgical procedures. Based in Calgary with 41
employees, TENET has recently received the 2010 Calgary Manufacturing
Industry’s Best Employer Award; been on the Profit 100 fastest growing
companies (2008, 2009); and received the prestigious 2009 Manning Award for
the design of the SPIDER Limb Positioner.
The tour of TENET will display their
continued efforts in Lean Manufacturing best practices with good examples of
visual tooling, Kanban systems, 5S and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
