SME, headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, U.S.A., is an international professional society dedicated to bringing people and information together to advance manufacturing knowledge. We are internationally recognized by manufacturing practitioners, companies and other organizations as their source for information, education, and networking.

We support manufacturers from all industries and job functions through our events and technical and professional development resources. A firm workforce development supporter, SME invests heavily in manufacturing education.

Akron Chapter 047 schedules technical meetings and plant tours at various times throughout the program year of September through May.
