Welcome to the homepage of the Atlanta Chapter (Chapter 61) of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), where manufacturing comes together in North Georgia! We’re glad you stopped by for a visit. Our Chapter 61 team strives to maintain an active schedule of exciting plant tours along with interesting and informative technical presentations and activities, in order to promote an increased awareness of manufacturing engineering in our community. At the same time, we aim to create an environment for local manufacturing professionals to get together and have some fun, chat with each other about leading trends and technologies that impact their daily jobs, and develop friends and contacts that will last them throughout their careers and lifetimes. October 20, 2009 – Tour of EMS Defense & Space Thanks to our friends at EMS Defense & Space Systems for putting on a great tour on October 20^th. We had another good turnout and everyone enjoyed the tour. We hope to see all of you next month at Kemira. November 17, 2009 – Tour of Kemira Kemira offers a comprehensive product range and an extensive knowledge base in fiber treatment chemistry, chemical water treatment and water separation technology. On Tuesday November 17^th, we will tour through their facility in Marietta. For more details and to Register, click here to go to our Events page. Important Note: Only three spots remain open on the tour as of November 6! December 2009 – Toys for Tots Get ready for our annual Toys for Tots bike building event in December!
