Dear SME
Greater
The year
2007 started very well!
-
Siemens plant tour was
a success with 15 people,
-
USC’s New Biomass Steam and Electric Power
Facility had one of the largest attendance ever – this
presentation was offered to both SME and ASME (American Society Of Mechanical
Engineers),
-
Next week we have over
60 people signed up for Bose tour plant for both SME and IEEE (
In the
engineering profession, we are many to think that networking is important. On
our everyday work, when facing a challenge or problem in an unknown field, it’s
always nice to have met somebody who could be familiar with it and give us a
lead to start. So to better network we need to seek a larger attendance of
engineers and students at our meetings. We also need to reach slightly beyond
our “specialty”. This is why I didn’t hesitate to offer to partner with other
organizations such as ASME and IEEE when similar interests can be found. I
would like to encourage each of you to exchange business cards and chat about
what you are doing during these opportunities.
I hope to
see as many of you in the future at our next Speaker presentations and Plant
Tours.
Best
regards,
Jean
