November 06^th 2007 @ 6:00 pm – FLEXTRONICS (formerly Solectron) Plant Tour by Marty Wilson

Solectron was acquired by Flextronics on October 2007

This tour will be offered to both SME and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) members

A brief presentation on PowerPoint shall be offered before starting the tour

Flextronics manufacture products for NCR and other companies. Inside their facility we will observe manufacture of high end computer products, networking equipment, photo kiosks, ATM's, automated store checkout systems, etc. 

Flextronics is a recent winner of the Industry Week Best Plants Award, recognizing the top ten manufacturing plants in North America. 

Also, Flextronics has a lot of emphasis on Lean Manufacturing.

Our Tour Leader, Marty Wilson, Functional Excellence Manager, is a member of APICS and also a former member and past president of IIE's Central SC Chapter.
RSVP with name and company’s name shall be required

Boxed meals from Atlanta Bread Company shall be offered
