NAMRI/SME Awards Program
Through its awards program, SME's North American Manufacturing Research Institution (NAMRI), in conjunction with its annual North American Manufacturing Research Conference (NAMRC), recognizes and honors individuals for their service, contributions and outstanding manufacturing research. These awards are presented annually at NAMRI/SME's NAMRC event.
SME Journal Awards
New in 2018, the awards recognize outstanding associate editors and high performing reviewers in each of our three Journals. Their critical review and oversight is crucial in further promoting the interdisciplinary formative research that contributes to the progress in manufacturing techniques, models, processes and systems.
The NAMRI/SME Founders Lecture were established to honor individuals who served on the NAMRC Scientific Committee from 1973 to 1981 and those members who founded NAMRI/SME when it was officially established.
NAMRC Student Research Presentation Award
As part of the annual NAMRC event, a Student Research Presentation Award is presented in recognition of students' contributions to NAMRC. Encouraging young talents to pursue a career in manufacturing research is of vital importance to the long-term goals of the manufacturing community. Submissions Due: Dec. 15
NAMRI/SME Outstanding Lifetime Service Award
This award honors distinguished members for their long-term dedication and contributions to NAMRI/SME.
NAMRI/SME David Dornfeld Manufacturing Vision Award
The NAMRI/SME David Dornfeld Manufacturing Vision Award encourages truly visionary concepts of research and education, named in honor of the late David Dornfeld, PhD, FSME, recognizes outstanding vision and leadership within the manufacturing community.
Outstanding Paper Award
The NAMRI/SME Outstanding Paper Award is presented each year to recognize both the engineering value and industrial relevance of a publication at NAMRC.
S.M. Wu Research Implementation Award
The NAMRI/SME S.M. Wu Research Implementation Award, presented by NAMRI/SME, recognizes outstanding original research presented as a paper at the annual North American Manufacturing Research Conference (NAMRC), and subsequently, upon implementation, had a significant commercial and/or societal impact.
